A steady 8 mile run had to be turned into an easy 7 mile run. The heat and humidity were excrutiating today and it appears it will only get worse. So much for a slow 11 mile run tomorrow morning. If the heat and humidity levels don't come down some, I will be introuble making tomorrow's training distance.
The humidity has been beating me down. It feels like I'm carrying a twenty pound backpack on my chest, if that makes sense? I kept the pace about 2 minutes per mile slower than scheduled. It's impossible to keep a steady aggressive pace with these temps. The temperature at 4pm this afternoon was still in the low 90s and the humidity levels matched the temperature. Hopefully, I will be able to log 11 miles in the AM. I am eager to maintain my training regimen, but the weather is doing its best to prevent me from doing that. I guess I'll just have to keep pushing through. The toughest part is staying well hydrated.
